About the project

Demo Days are a series of off-site masterclasses where volunteers of IT Community of Uzbekistan visit leading IT companies and study the industry from the inside: the teams, the processes, the workplaces and the way people actually get hired.

There is no stage and no conference hall. Volunteers come to the office, meet the people who build the product and leave with an honest picture of the work. Every visit follows the same promise: the company shows what it really does and answers everything it is asked.

What you see

A day inside a real IT company.

  • 01

    The company itself

What it builds, how it earns and what the culture feels like when nobody is presenting a slide.

  • 02

    How the work is organised

Team structure, roles, processes and the tools that hold a product together.

  • 03

    Real workplaces

The floors, the labs, the equipment and the technologies people use every day.

  • 04

    The way in

Practical advice on entering the profession, internships and growth inside the company.

The format

How a Demo Day runs.

Each host shapes the day around its own work, and the frame stays the same from the first handshake to the last coffee.

  • 01

    Doors open

The group arrives, meets the team over coffee and settles in before anything formal starts.

  • 02

    The company speaks

A talk about the business, the products behind it and the structure that keeps them running.

  • 03

    Deep dive

A masterclass from an engineer, a security specialist or a founder on how the work is actually done.

  • 04

    Walk the floors

Workspaces, meeting rooms, labs and rest areas, in small groups so every question gets an answer.

  • 05

    Questions without a script

Hiring, internships, first salaries and the mistakes worth skipping.

  • 06

    Stay a little longer

A quiz, a group photo and a coffee break that turns into contacts and, more than once, into a first interview.

The log

Doors we have already walked through.

From fintech and cybersecurity to big tech and hardware studios. In 2026 the project left the capital, with visits to IT Park Karakalpakstan in Nukus and IT Park Namangan.

Ilkhomjon Aliev on building a startup that survives its first year, then laser and 3D technologies in live projects.

How a company that fights cybercrime is structured, a day in the operations centre and what it takes to get hired.

  • 05

    UzCard

Two days on how payments work after a card is tapped, an ATM from the inside and the Intern Academy by UzCard.

  • 06

    Yandex Uzbekistan

About 45 participants, three talks on the company, CVs and one employee’s path, and an office tour in four groups.

Voices

What volunteers took home.

  • Demo Day at Huawei was a real discovery for me. We are used to thinking of it as a phone maker, and in fact the company builds far more than that.
    Kamila SerovaHuawei, May 2025
  • The practical part with the two phones and the cloud package was the most exciting one. It was great to touch everything and try it ourselves.
    Aziza TukhtaevaHuawei, May 2025
  • I left with a strong impression. I liked how the event was organised and how clear and useful the presentations were.
    Alisher TannagashevUzCard, November 2025

Geography

The project moved out of the capital.

Demo Days started in Tashkent, and the regional series now lets volunteers meet the industry without leaving their own city.

  • 6in TashkentBanks, fintech, cybersecurity, big tech and hardware studios.
  • 1in NukusIT Park Karakalpakstan, the first visit outside the capital.
  • 1in NamanganIT Park Namangan, residency rules and local startup support.

For companies

Open your office for a day.

A Demo Day costs a few hours of your team and puts your company in front of the people who will apply to it next year.

  • 01

    Meet candidates early

A motivated audience of students, juniors and career changers who came to your office on purpose.

  • 02

    Show the culture

Your floors, your team and your products explain the employer brand better than any vacancy page.

  • 03

    Build the internship pipeline

Present your programs directly, the way UzCard did with Intern Academy, and collect applications on the spot.

For volunteers

How to get a place.

  1. 01Become a volunteer and take part in projects in your city
  2. 02Watch the Telegram channel, where every visit is announced
  3. 03Register early: lists usually close within a day
  4. 04Come with the questions no job description answers
